2013 HAMACHER CHARDONNAY - NEW RELEASE
Hamacher’s extensive experience with Chardonnay shines when combined with Oregon’s beautiful cool climate fruit. These Chardonnay’s are crafted to highlight the natural acidity and complement the rich fruit and supple structure that, when made with skill, only Oregon Chardonnay can attain.
The fruit is 100% Dijon clone and sourced from vineyards in the northern Willamette Valley. Whole cluster pressing, native yeast and malolactic fermentations give complexity and depth to these wines. Weekly stirring of the lees for close to a year, give a supple, broad mouthfeel while retaining elegance. Perfumed citrus blossom, clove spice, marzipan with mineral-laden crème brûlée and honeydew melon show in the nose. In the mouth, the wine is broad and quite viscous yet bright with spicy apricot, honey and ripe yellow plum flavors with a long rich finish.
